Sun images from Melbourne 1/5/2022

After the conjunction this morning the clouds persisted. We managed to grab one quick video in a small thinning of the cloud. There was a very large new prom on the NE which prompted us to check it's size relative to Earth. Lets just say it's big!

Great images of the proms, have to say that the prominence on the NE limb is very prominent. ( Sorry, someone had to say it ).

Boom boom!

Thanks Jeff.

As it turns out the Gong website video from the Udaipur location shows that this prom had a dramatic liftoff at 6:00 UT. Our image was taken at 01:30 UT. Definitely worth a look at the video lift-off! You'll need to put yesterdays date into the player to see it.
