Binoviewer servicing

Does anyone know if you can get a binoviewer serviced here in Australia?

Pretty sure Roger Davis can do it for you. Here is a link to his contact details on his Facebook Page

https://www.facebook.com/people/Roge...8571/?sk=about

Roger has done this sort of work for many decades and ran the Melbourne outlet for the Binocular and Telescope shop for a few decades.

Definitely try Roger first. If for some reason he can't take it on then try Malcolm Eames at Optical Repairs https://opticalrepairs.com.au/about-malcolm/

Cheers

Thanks John. I posted this same request at cloudynights and Denis chimed in explaining how you remove the sides for access to prisms. I will keep your links for sure.

Sorry guys, I had to retire last June due to arthritic thumbs and fingers (which is becoming evident in other joints now). Try Malcolm Eames in Brisbane.

Hi Roger,

Very sorry to hear that. Hopefully it doesn't get any worse and at least allows you to enjoy your retirement time. I can appreciate that it is very fine delicate work which requires very steady hands.

Cheers

Well... after waiting for the rain to cease and humidity to get down to below 60%, I finally had a shot at opening up my TS binoviewer. Denis from Cloudynights gave a few instructions, so I had successfully opened up the side of the bino and removed what looked like a web type fungal spot or two on prism surfaces. Easy peasy.
