ASIAIR dithering issue

I have noticed what I think is a problem caused by ASIAIR's control of dithering.

The mount is a ZWO AM5.

I have set it to dithering 2 pixels every 4th sub.

PA is good. Winds calm, seeing fair.

And I have also noticed that each 4th sub is write-off because the mount has done a jump (double-stars) for no obvious reason except the dithering routine.

I wonder if anyone else has encountered something similar.

Hi Peter,

I have never had issues with my AA and dithering.

Have you tried changing the dithering settings to confirm if this is the the cause? 2 pixels seems a very 'tiny nudge' unless you are imaging at very long focal lengths. Also try dithering after every 3rd or 5th sub to see if the jump is linked to the dithering process. What is your settling setting?

Also, check if you are running the latest firmware for the mount and AsiAir, just to avoid any known bugs.

Well, I was too quick to point the finger at dithering. I find it with and without it now I look more carefully.
