You might also be interested in this 9th April 2019 article on what
involvement there is between Australian engineers and the gigantic
ITER tokamak construction project in the south of France which is hoped
to further an understanding of the viability of the technology.

Though Australia is not a member state of the ITER consortium,
there is a technology cooperation agreement in place.

I saw they provided some kind of high tech cameras to watch the reaction in another article. Pretty cool.

Actually, nuclear fusion has been seen as the holy grail for clean energy by the environmentally conscious for around 5 decades - even before the Greens existed.

Then there is The Three Gorges Hydro thing.
But as grand and massive it is they need more energy... interesting to watch a vid on that system..
