August 2021 Photo Challenge - "Dirt roads" - Entries Thread

As a bit of fun each month, we run this informal Photo Challenge, it's open to everyone.
No prizes, just the kudos.

This month's challenge, as chosen by last month's winner (jbdave), is "Dirt Roads"

Those of us still in Lockdown, please do not breach any standing health orders, but Grab a camera if you can, or submit something from your collection, but have a go. Thanks.

The Fine Print:
* This is the Entries thread. Only for posting your entry, and its back story.
* Comments on other entries are not allowed here, but can be posted to the "Comments and Other Images Thread" -> HERE.
* Just to clarify, entries are limited to one image per person. Additional images may be posted to the "Comments and Other Images Thread"
* Of course, the image must be your "own work"
and
* all other normal forum rules, and image size limits, apply.

The "winner" will be determined by public vote, which will be run at the end of the month, and will get to choose next month's topic and have their photo immortalised in our "Photo Challenge Hall of Fame".

Good Luck!

Utter desolation

An almost monochrome landscape, high altitude dirt road in NW Peru.
Lots of earthquakes and landslides. The foreground is a dry river bed.
