I'm not sure this is fair....not even the biggest online market places can protect you from this sort of scam.

MFA has its own challenges - that means secure storage of more personal data than i would be prepared to give to a 'free' service...
(we'd all have to pay to keep that secure)

I'm still surprised that some folk choose to leave their birthdate here , and other users actively congratulate them...(and then they respond!!!)

There is a hefty disclaimer and 'how to protect yourself' instructions on this site...and as much as i feel sorry for the OP....had these instructions been followed it is unlikely that they would have fallen for it...

Just to make it clear. By the time I made the transaction, I was well aware that it could be a scam, so there is nobody else to blame here.

I took the deliberate risk to lose $530, but I wouldn't have done it for a $3,000 Triplet APO OTA.

However, what took me by surprise is that scammers are infiltrating even very small, very special interest groups like us.

I did not imply in any way shape or form it was any kind of racial bias in my comment, more a hold the banks accountable especially when the funds are transferring into other Aussie banks where lots of identification is required to open an account.
Now I'm offended, my son is half Uruguayan!
