Windows 7 and QHY* CCDs

I'm a late adopter of Windows 7 - a by-product of buying a new astro computer (a fitPC2i) - and I'm now waiting on delivery.

While I wait, I am wondering what the current wisdom is with Windows 7 and the various QHY5/8/9 etc CCD cameras. Are there any known issues - and are there any Windows 7 drivers for them that are available.

Peter.

I run my qhy5 and 9 on win7 32bit and they work most of the time

I believe the drivers are 64bit but I prefer to stick with 32bit for device control.

Hi Peter, I have used QHY8,8Pro, 9 and 5 all under windows7 32 and 64 bit using a number of different capture programs without any grief.
You must download and use both the 64 bit system drivers and Ascom drivers for the cameras and seleect Ascom camera from the camera selector of your capture program. You also require the latest Ascom platform which I think is about Ascom V5.5.

Much easier now than the old software drivers which caused lots of niggling problems.
