Car Central Locking Remote

Try this.

My brother in-law told me this and it works for me.

Go far enough away from your car so that your central locking remote does not work.
Now, hold the remote to your temple and press the button.

Did it work for you?

I don't want to direct those little wavy signals through my fragile brain.

It might lock up like the doors and stop working.

It nearly has now.

I'll try to get someone else to trial it

Nope,
The monk was just slightly annoyed that
I kept pressing his doorbell.
I think I almost broke his vow of silence.

It did not work for me but I suspect that it was either the softness of my head that meant that there was nothing for the signal to "reflect" off of or that it was all of the sawdust in my head that absorbed the signal...

I would not be surprised to learn that a normal skull will act as an amplifier...

It more than likely your body is acting to polarise the transmission (enhancing the Amplitude)...a capacitive coupling due to the fluids in that area. This also happens when placing the remote next to your jaw.

But don't get too carried away...think of what this all means when you place a mobile telephone against your head!

My Remote works just brilliantly from a very long distance.

I have only recently bought a car that has this technology, and I tend to forget to lock it.

Last year we were in Tassie, and parked the car and walked to the markets, it was then i said to Alice "I don't know if i locked the car" better go back and check.

We were a long way from the car, at least 300 meters, but i could see it, so I said to myself, "maybe it will work from here".

Yep it did, the lights flashed and then i pressed it again, and again, it has a huge range.

Now having said that I bought Alice a new car which is a Kio Rio, we use it to just run around town in, and unless you are less than 10 meters away it will not work at all, now figure that.
