I saw the Bi lobe last year behind Eta for the first time on a moonless night down south , using my 12” Goto dob and Televue 21mm ethos eye piece. It appeared as a faint holographic sphere behind the Star. You have to apply averted vision to see it , quite amazing.
I had to look twice to prove I wasn’t seeing things

I'm a little ashamed to say that I've never put an eyepiece into either of my scopes. There has only ever been a camera hanging off the back. I'm planning some trips to dark sites soon so maybe I should give visual a try!
