Dark sky

Just wondering where a reasonably dark sky can be found for observing with a telescope in the northern suburbs of Sydney? I.e. where is safe and I'm not likely to be harassed.

This is a decent site I've been to a few times. You get the odd car coming up, weirdly usually couples. But it's not common and they either leave you alone or are interested in the skies after a quick chat.

It’s a nice site. There’s also toilets nearby on the site - take a torch. The Northern Sydney Astronomical Society uses it as one of their observing sites (the other being nearby Peninsula Firearm Academy just a few km towards the west on Mona Vale rd). They meet twice a month around new moon. Website here: nsas.org.au

I’ve been at the site by myself as well. It’s quiet late at night except for the occasional car that doesn’t stay long.
