M78
M78 is a perennial favourite target for many. I have always loved the multitude of colours present in the dust and gas within the region. It is without doubt one of my favourite objects to image. Being mainly a reflection nebula surrounded by hints of Ha nebulosity from the edge of Barnard's loop, it really is a special object.
A fairly short imaging run of only 15 hours but just enough to manage the noise in the image. Details of the image on the webpage.

Stunning. That's a wall hanger. Love the colours, and the composition can be turned 90 degrees and work just as well.

Another top shelf image there Paul, very well done.
Ticks all the boxes for composition, sharpness, detail & colour balance.
A great reference image for others to aspire to.

My absolute favourite target, and you've done it justice.
