Hi fellow astronomers! A heads up to all Perth based observers, on Sat 25 June there will be an occultation of Uranus by the moon. Ingress will be difficult to see as it will occur only 1 degree above the horizon on the bright limb. Egress will be much better to observe, occuring 15 degrees above the horizon and on the dark lunar limb.
The Moon and Uranus will be super close from other states but only us sandgroppers will witness an occultation. Mark this rare event in your calendars Perthians! Clear skies to all
Thanks Steve. You won't see an occultation from Tassie but Uranus will still be really close to the moon. Hope you enjoy the view and wishing you clear skies!
