CCDstack not registering images well

I have used CCDstack for years to calibrate my mono CCD images. I use the CCDIS plugin. Its worked well for a long time but I notice lately its starting to have some fails.

Firstly it often will not register a Ha master with a luminance master like it used to.

Secondly I noticed on a recent image it did not register the red master properly even though it reported that it had. Selecting back and forth showed the red to be off by quite a bit.

Is anyone else noticing this? I use the most up to date version of CCDstack 2 with its updates option. CCDIS is probably an older version not sure if that has an updated version or not. I should check.

I am thinking I should swap to PI to image calibration.

Greg.

Hi Greg, maybe try to register the lum onto the Ha. When I get errors with CCDIS I first try to disable high precision. If this doesn't work I use star match or other on that sub then CCDIS again.

I never had a case that I know of where it said all was aligned while a sub was still not registered.

Thanks Marc. I do some of those steps. I'll have another go at registering these latest subs and see if its still doing it or not.

Otherwise I'll switch to PixInsight which has registered some mirrorless camera images I had that CCDstack and Photoshop would not.
