$30k of equipment up for grabs
I’m having to come to terms with reality.
We’re currently 24/7 carers and sharing the spare bedroom, 150km from the office, equipment, observatory etc etc.
I honestly don’t think we’ll get back to normalcy this year. That being the case I’m considering selling most of the Astro gear to let some more active members get the benefit.
Everything is in St Leonards, Victoria and I’d probably recommend pick up rather than post (we’re not home long enough to do the packing and shipping, sorry.)
I have a detailed spreadsheet of all the gear……
If you’re interested in anything particular just email me - it maybe there in the box(es)
Everything will be as new or used but not abused.
Thanks for reading.

I won’t get home until at least late next week.
I’ll review the spreadsheet I have and post a link to a copy….
As I said if you have a specific need/ want drop me an email
(If I can do the listing, it will not have prices, open to offers)

Hi Ken
Looking for a Cak filter and maybe a Spectroscope.
Also the Geelong Club, ASoG, may be interested in a Spectroscope.
Could you please send me a the list or let me know where I can see it.
Thanks
Rodd

Thanks for the interest.
Caring duties have the priority so bear with me. I’ll try and reply to the specific requests and get the list emailed as soon as (probably late next week)

Hi Ken, I'd be keen to see the list of spectroscopes, especially any low resolution models.

As I said, I appreciate the interest. I’ll issue a detailed listing some time next week, when I get home.
A reminder…..I honestly don’t have the opportunity to consider packing and shipment. Everything will be pick up from St Leonards, Victoria, sorry.

I have sent an email and copy of spreadsheet to all the known enquiries.
If you were expecting a spreadsheet and never received, just drop me an email (or email address) for a copy.
Just a reminder everything is collect from St Leonards. Vic 3223.
NO packing/shipping/postage is available. NO exceptions.
Carers duties take priority, bear with me.

I've issued over 40 copies of the equipment list - with very (very!) few responses.....
Is there an issue??

I think you will get more response if you include the price of each item in the list.

I left it up to the buyer to make a reasonable offer....It's pretty easy to find what items are selling for today with Google.
I can, if it's a show stopper, add prices....
Postage is another problem.....

Hi Ken,
In only a week your advert thread has been viewed nearly 2000 times, which is definitely good going, so you're going to get a "few" requests for more info. As for that translating further that's another story, but I feel you'd be better served listing the long list here, even if it's a hundred items/whatever. Strictly one item per line, with a reference number for each item. Based on that and a reasonable font size you should be able to simply list perhaps 40-50 items per screenful and then probably two screenfuls long should do it (say 50 items per screen for a reasonable font size).
Otherwise it's harder on you: reading emails and forum messages, sending lists, clearing your messages, etc...
Another possible issue is that some potential purchasers may be, for whatever reason, disinclined to ask for a list and so your pool of potential buyers could be smaller than it otherwise might be.
Best of luck in the sale.
Best
JA

Here's a suggestion/request:
Since postage isn't an option due to Ken's circumstances, would anyone in the area be prepared to pick up the goods in person then post them? I'd be happy to pay a bit extra for their time/petrol, etc. If anyone is interested in doing this please PM me. I'd be looking at a few eyepieces so nothing too big.

Just add the file to Dropbox or Google Drive and post a link here this way there's no issues with the list being too large
