Flats Question

Hi Folks.
I am using an Esprit 100 with a ASI183 MC 1" sensor. In the past I haven't been using Flats in the calibration process as the stacked image looked OK (I don't take my imaging train apart). Thinking I have been remiss I set about checking this out.

I took my lights from the other night and stacked with Darks + Flats, and then stacked without Flats. I could not notice any difference between the two stacked images paying close attention to the corners.

Is this because using a small sensor in a Full frame image circle there is less vignetting? If I were to use a larger sensor then would Flats become more important (Dust particles excluded)?

Thanks

SB
