ASI 1600MMPro Sensor Cleaning

Hi All


I have unfortunately had a some condensation on my asi 1600mmpro sensor, is this something i can/should clean myself?
What should it be cleaned with?
Is there a correct process?

Yep its very easy to do, I had some small dust spots on the sensor glass itself - just get a dslr APS-C sensor cleaning kit and follow its instructions.

I have and use two ASI 1600MM cameras.
To clean the sensor, after removing the cover glass, I use a spatula made from a plastic credit card, cut just wider than the chip.
I use Kimwipes and IPA. Folded the wipe to a double folded strip, fold tightly over the spatula and a spray of IPA.
One wipe across the sensor, and dump the wipe.
If need be repeat.....
To check and verify the sensor is clean, I use a flat image taken with a bright sky at >f15.
Works for me.

I cleaned the sensor on my 2600MC tonight using a VSGO full frame DSLR sensor cleaning kit. The spatula covers the whole width of the sensor plus a few mm either side.One drop of cleaning fluid on the end of the spatula , wait 10 sec , wipe across and back again , all done. Repeat if there are stubborn specks.Cleaning process including dismantling and putting back together took 10 minutes , checked sensor with a torch on white and red illuminated
To double check sensor , took 10 x 2 minute subs , stacked , processed and stretched , image clean as a whistle
Glen gave me the advice a while back
Cleaning kit cost me $43 and comes with 20 spatulas so it will last a few years or until the cleaning fluid expires.
