Totally red

Folks,

The Moon was being illuminated very dimly at totality, so this is a stack of 20x 1 second shots with my Esprit 100 and QHY 183C combo. No HDR or any of that funky stuff.

It came out surprisingly red with a bit of a saturation push of course, but all channels were pushed equally, and I had waved a big grey ball in front of the combo before and after this shot was taken, for colour reference. While this may appear less orangey than the usual consumer camera shot, I believe this to be because the astro camera lacks the light shaping filter that consumer cameras have...so this shot included the "native" red that the camera was detecting at totality.

Cheers,
Dunk

Quite like that Dunk, maybe a little to red for my liking however nice and crisp, well done indeed.

Thanks Leon

It is a little more red than the usual shots, but I believe it to be closer to natural (notes added above).

Really nice image there, very sharp.

It has a similar colour cast to my DSLR image, so I think you're fine there

Great image - both smooth and detailed at the same time.
