APT vs BackyardNIKON

This is a topic more than likely brought up before but wanted to see the feeling people have on the 2 products. I have never used APT, so having opinions from those who have used it would be great.

I have used BackyardNIKON for years now and never had an issue with it, it just works, every time.

So what does APT have that BackyardNIKON doesn't?
Is it worth having the 2 products? or is it better to stick with one??

Despite my years using various applications, I've only just discovered Plate Solving software, which APT can utilize but not BYN, as far as i know.

Wish i knew about plate solving software much earlier

I've used APT for 12 months and cant really fault it.

It has been a pleasure to use and yes, platesolving makes life much easier.

The only issue I have with APT is it's ability to autofocus.......I haven't had great results and feel it is a little clunky having to preselect a star with a box.

Apart from the focus stuff I cant fault APT (and I believe they are working on focus improvements!)
