Anyone using oine of these ? COPY OF TC 80N3

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...:X:RTQ:US:1123

I contacted the seller , I suspected it might just be an extension cable with no functionality of it's own : their response was -

Thank you for your email.
This Timer Remote Control is the replacement for the Canon TC-80N3, and provide full function and good quality as the Canon TC-80N3.
The timer remote control is made by one of popular OEM camera accessories manufacturer in China.
If you have any question, please feel free to contact us.

Best Regards,

considering the cheapest an ORIGINAL CANON TC 80N3 can had for is 229AUD + postage see http://www.shopbot.com.au/pp-canon-t...ice-54375.html

and they ask 53.99USD postage from china included , it looks like a good buy , what do others here think ? Anyone got one , does it work as good as an ORIGINAL ?

An excellent buy.
I'd like to get the remote control one, it's only about $20 more.

Looks exactly the same as the one I found , only it's got the Aputure brand on it.

Wireless ??? do you mean ?

That would be neat on those freezing cold winters nights or nights in summer when mozzies are very hungry and are in plague numbers.

Hmmm that is interesting didn't really know one could get a different version of the TC-80N3.

I have two Canon ones, and they are great, and so was the price.

The Yongnuo TC 80n3 clone : http://cgi.ebay.com/New-YONGNUO-LCD-...742.m153.l1262
works out 71AUD inc post (AUD/0.7 USD)

The Aputure TC 80n3 clone : http://cgi.ebay.com/Aputure-Timer-Re...1|293:1|294:50
79 AUD inc postage

the one I found (Greenlife clone) http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ayphotohosting
works out 77 AUD inc postage and even cheaper if I ask them for a white balance cap and 40D screen protector and maybe a magnifying eyepiece angle viewer.

Definitely cheaper than the ORIGINAL CANON TC 80n3 prices I've seen.

I used one of the Photix TC80N3 clones off ebay, it was brilliant.. I recently got a good deal on a 1DmkIII with a TC80N3 and find the canon one to be no different except it feels of better construction.. its a bit heavier, and the buttons are easier to access, however function is exactly the same...

A great buy for the price..

Yongnuo TC 80n3 clone looks like the one to order .... unless Greenlife give me a good deal on their clone + white balance cap+ UV filter + screen protector + angle viewer + postage.

So you are aware, The lid off a pringles container works well as a white balance cap.. put it on a canon body over the lens mount (with no lens attached) and take an image in the area you're going to be shooting, and set that as you're custom white balance shot, remove the pringles cap, attach lens and fire away...

You're always looking for cheaper options for things... $2.50 for a white balance cap that works perfectly is about as cheap as your going to get.

They sure are!! An upside is that you get to eat a tube of pringles... AAANNNND get a free white balance cap thrown in!! Fantastic stuff...

I use a pringles white balance cap every time I use my camera... I prefer custom white balancing my images than trusting the auto settings...

Got the Yongnuo remote for Chrissy of Ebay and it works brilliantly! Done a 3hr star trail on NYE while I was sleeping Akso like the fact it takes AAA batteries not the button type.

I am also using Aputure timer..
The only comment I would have is, there is no indication of how many frames remains to be taken. Of course, this is not the problem since I can always have a look at the watch and calculate..

It's good to see someone doing my research for me

I was about to look through ebay for some accessories for my 40D but this thread seems to have answered all my questions.
I wasn't really looking to get a shutter control but added one to the order ($2 off for every extra item ordered!)

Just as well my new year resolutions didn't include no more ebay shopping...
