Waiting for Binos from the USA.

I ordered a Used 25X100 Binoculars from a seller back on the 7th of June, that came from a private seller in America [Cloudy Nights ad]. They have not arrived yet. So how long should I expect to wait before I start to worry.

That is how long will they take to get to me, at the worst.

They are used "Zhumell 25x100 Tachyon Astronomy Binoculars with Case." I had put a wanted ad on IIS but no response, so purchased these from USA used.

It can take 4 weeks from past experience. Did the seller give you any tracking details so you can check when it left the US. Not much good for tracking once it arrives in Australia. It can also get hold up in Customs here in Australia.

He said he will give me the tracking number but did not. So was wondering when I should start moving on this matter.

Here below is his last message sent to me on Cloudy Nights PMs

I don't want to complain if it is held up by Custom's etc.

Nothing wrong with going back an asking for an update and tracking number he promised to supply.

I am currently waiting for an item (KISS Focuser) from the US and it is now into week 3 .. I am not to phased but the seller emailed me and asked if it has arrived yet.

Yep, ask the seller again for a tracking number.
Auspost sometimes use the same number (if the seller used USPS) so you can track it when it arrives here.

Yes it was that ad. Guy seems genuine and we did a deal/

okay, good luck. The first seller has never posted on CN forums. This is usually a warning sign.

Just e-mailed the guy and got a reply. He said the reason they were not sent is his friend said postage would cost $1000. But I have got heavy books from the USA and it was not that much. So I told him that. He did say he would arrange a refund.

But would like to sort out post costs first.

Sounds like a scammer. Lodge a dispute with PayPal and get a refund asap.

Yep, it's Red Alert time. $1000 for postage, he's off his rocker.
Did you transfer money as a gift or did you make sure you selected "purchase goods" when using PayPal? I don't think PayPal gives protection for the first option.
