The Slow Mo Guys did a feature on this a couple of years ago, except it was cameras at CalTech (the world's fastest camera, so they claimed).

Filming the Speed of Light at 10 Trillion FPS

That was awesome. So trippy seeing a pulse of light tapered inside the mirror box!
