Taking a rare Autumn opportunity to image during the galaxy season
Moving beyond my very marginal expertise (at around 400mm or less) I decided to try out manually focussing my existing CFF140 (focal length 1050mm) with my normal wide view imaging gear of a 50mm guidescope fitted with MGEN3 and my modded Nikon D5600 and load this on my AZEQ6.
There is also a Hotech flattener fitted to this f7.5 but not optimized for distance from sensor. Overall I was pleased with the results of 2 hours or urban imaging with this unorthodox combination. I was expecting all sorts of issues but the well known Nikon colored rings effect and some dirt on camera sensor seem to be the worst.
