HEQ5 Time zone setup SA

Hi , Just a bit confused as to time zone/ time setup on my new heq5. I had my first setup with this mount recently.I tried a first star alignment and appeared to be roughly an hour out RA. In South Australia do I input time zone as 10.5 hrs east then click yes to daylight saving and set time same as daylight saving CST. Or input 9.5hrs, click no to daylight saving and set time to an hour earlier than daylight saving CST(standard CST). The manual also only has the zone indicated for S.A. as 9hrs east even though the controller can do half hour adjustment. Thanks for any help
Cheers, Richard

Richard,
Here’s some notes I put together a while back on important settings in the Synscan handcontroller for various Skywatcher mounts EQ5 , HEQ5 , EQ6 , EQ6-R and so on .... for Star alignment and Polar alignment
Also a procedure to polar align using Synscan

I assume your using version 4 Synscan ?

Hope this helps in some way

Cheers
Martin

Thanks for your reply Martin. I have version 5. After reading your notes I believe I put in 10.5 hours for time zone and then clicked yes for daylight saving which I assume would have adjusted the zone to 11.5 hours putting me an hour out. I will put in 9.5 hours and then click yes for daylight saving. Hopefully that will see me right.
Thanks for your very useful setup notes Martin. your help much appreciated, Now just need another clear night which may not be for a while.
Cheers, Richard
