What software for Canon RAW processing.

G'Day all,

Which software do you use to process Canon RAW images which are in CR2 format.
I have tried lots of software but most don't seem to recognise the image format.
It appears FITS is a fairly standard Raw format but canon must use their own.
I have a 350D and a 40D which appear to have a different format for the same named (CR2) files.

Help Please.

Raw Shooter was great as a free program. Adobe now own it and have released it as the beefed up Light Room.

If you have both the 350D and 40D I'd highly recommend Photoshop CS3.
You can download the 40D Raw plug in from Adobe and do most of your editing within the Raw section of PS.

Only problem is that CS3 is so expensive.

Doug I'm not sure if the 350D or the 40D come with the Canon software disc, which has Digital Photo Professional on it,(The 5D dose) and it will convert Raws to 16 bit Tiff's with there own program, that is all i ever use.

ditto... ive used both the lightroom conversion and the standard cannon one that comes wth the camera, compared them side by side and could not tell the difference.

having said that though the lightroom program is fantastic for colour manipulation
