Celestron CGX Mount

Just bought a new EQ8 R so my Celestron CGX has to go.

It is as bought from Bintel https://www.bintel.com.au/product/ce...v=322b26af01d5 ) but has an additional 5Kg counter weightalong with a Skyportal WiFi and Aux port splitter. A 100mm counter weight bar extension is also included, the original counter weight shaft is not modified in any way.

The mount has been used in an observatory only. A Celestron pier is included.

Cost including extras, is $2400.00, the mount is in Bathurst, delivery into Sydney is $50.00, other areas at cost, the mount and tripod is packed into the original boxes.

Hi - interested in the mount - looks in good order, is it working well?

I understand the benefits of a larger capacity mount to replace it.

I'm in Canberra, so I'd expect transport cost to be not greatly different from Sydney.

Hi again Ed

looking at the other offer you received - I can also pick it up from you if that's useful. Bathurst is an easy enough trip from where I am. Would be possible some time this week if that suits; you suggest a day and time.

How long is the pier? Useful for whether I'd bring my car or my wife's hatchback.

Your asking price looks a fair one to me.

The mount would go into a small backyard observatory, replacing a less weight-capable older mount.

I should have spelled all this out at the start. Fewer notes for you to look through.

Cheers

Hi again Ed

yes, please get a quote on the transport cost, thanks.

101 is quite an age, but I've seen folk linger well past doctors' expectations, so I don't think waiting around for someone's demise is the way to go; and I think I'd feel not quite right ... yeah, not my family, but it feels a bit odd.

I'll see what the transport cost is and decide from that. The main issue for coming myself is whether a covid hot spot suddenly emerges in the Canberra-Bathurst region. I'd be getting it transported in that case. Unpredictable times we live in.

Thanks for the Plane Wave suggestion. I'd heard about that softwware, but not looked into it. Plane Wave do some very good things.

Cheers
Ross
