PLAY - new software from Prima Luce Lab

So it looks like this requires a Sesto Senso 2 or Esatto to use fully (like ZWO's platform lock-in), but here's some new software from PLL for Windows.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1r5VEdiucv8

According to the video, it controls autofocus, auto-alignment (? not sure if this is polar alignment or plate-solving a target, or both), field de-rotation (needs the Esatto, but this will be good for Alt-Az mounts), Live Stacking, Autoguiding, sequence acquisition, and "much more"

Most importantly, I love the interface
The more companies start making nicer looking software, the more new people this hobby will bring in.

The software will also be free (besides the hardware requirement)

I'm sticking to NINA for now, but I will trial this software over the next few months as well.

Looks interesting and it also allows imaging with an Alt-Az mount if you have the Prima Luce ARCO Rotator.

Filippo is a delight to watch in the Prima Luce videos, his enthusiasm and energy are very engaging.

Cheers

Hi Dennis

Yes he's very enthusiastic, isn't he?! He's got his catch-cry down perfectly now.

PLL make some nice kit, so I'm really looking forward to testing this software out.

I have an ESATTO 2" Focuser that allows me entry to playing with this (free) SW from Pima Luce.

Look forward to giving it a run when it become available, thanks for the heads up.

Cheers

That's a beautiful focuser! I have the Sesto Senso 2. Maybe one day I'll upgrade to the Esatto.
