Cropping captured video

For the life of me I can't remember how I used to trim my raw videos when capturing planets.

I have a 10GB video of Jupiter and there is a lot of dead space as Jupiter is a small circle on the video. I used to be able to cut all the black space which significantly reduced the size of the file.

Can anyone jog my memory?
