First Horsehead of the season

Been at this astrophotography thing for about the last year or so, but between lockdown and the recent terrible Sydney skies, haven't had a lot of opportunities to image recently.

Thought I would share a recent quick snap of the horsehead. Just over an hour of total integration time (39x120s subs) with the L-extreme filter on my 533mc pro. I'm kind of surprised with how well it turned out for such a short total integration time. Processsed in pixinsight and more than a little noise reduction in photoshop.

Here's hoping to some clearer skies on the east coast soon. (Perhaps a vain hope)

Very nice! But how did you get the clear skies in Sydney - black market, along with some raid antigen tests?

I couldn't possibly reveal my methods. I suspect any good fortune has passed for the next few weeks though....

very nice image, I suspect the secret was to redirect all the useless wind blowing from politicians to disperse the clouds for a session
