An ignorant nexstar Qu from a noob

I've got a CG5 goto mount.

The manual and everywhere I've looked says the final approach when slewing should be up and right on the nexstar hand controller. Cool.

But doesn't that just apply to northern hemisphere ? Cause in Nth hemisphere right arrow moves the scope in RA direction opposite to that in Sth hemisphere ??? Or does it automatically change depending on which tracking mode I'm in (EQ nth or sth).

I'm confused ....

Its a good question Chris, and I have seen posts which state that it would apply differently for the Southern Hemisphere, as you suggest.

But (For my scope anyway) this only applies to the alignment process.

The point is, your final two movements (when doing your alignment) should correlate to your mounts final two movements when it is doing a GoTo.

That's how I understand it anyway.
