Hello

Hello to everyone in the Ice in space forums. I'm new here and new to astronomy.

I bought myself a Meade ETX-125 UHTC for Christmas and have enjoyed using it very much. I look forward to picking everyone's brains and learning more about astronomy and getting the most out of my new toy.

I want to get into the photography side of things in the near future and hope that there's some helpful people out there to guide me through the techniques and equipment I will need.

Great website Iceman!

Hi Jonathon! and and all that! Thanks for the feedback about the site, and glad to see you joining up and posting here!
Where did you hear about us?

That's a nice little scope you've got there too - seeker and jimmy have the 70mm versions I think, and they love them.

Hope to see you back here regularly, don't be afraid to ask any questions.. nothing is too silly to ask.. it's the only way to get up to speed quicker so you can spend more quality time looking at the skies..

Jonathon,
Nice scope the etx125, the newer ones are a lot better than the first ones.

Make sure you do a train drive at least once a month, see the manual for details on this.

Try to pick two stars for allignment that are 80 to 90 deg's apart.
Try to pick a Southern star say this time of year Canopus then Betelgeuse or Aldebaran in the North and you should be on your way

Happy viewing.

Best.
