If not, before tossing it if you haven't already I'd love the opportunity to have a look at it and see if there's any way of recovering the board and encoders or even replacing the encoders.
If it was somehow recoverable I'm sure it would be a handy board for you to have spare just in case of future issues which I hope you don't have again..

Skywatcher are basically importers and distributors, they offer some technical product support for which I was grateful for , but do not have high level technical support ( bench testing and diagnostics ) at the integrated circuit level. They only have limited spare parts too.
In regards to the encoders on my rig we only assumed that the encoders were the issue , unconfirmed. I’m going to keep the old base unit intact for spares in the future . If and when I get time I’ll have a look at the undetermined fault again. The main objective was to get my 12” up and running again asap.
