Website crashing & HTTPS

Hi, just a couple of suggestions..

Might be a good idea to overhaul the servers and supporting infrastructure as the website often crashes on me (a simple refresh fixes the problem though).

While you're at it, could also migrate the entire site to HTTPS for security purposes.

When you say "crash", what do you mean?

Yes HTTPS will be done soon.

Server Not Found.
"Hmm. We’re having trouble finding that site. We can’t connect to the server at www.iceinspace.com.au."

For example, it just happened now when I tried to access this page, even though the 'forum' page before it loaded up just fine.

FWIW, I'm not having that problem at all...

Sounds more like an issue with either your router, cache or browser settings

Only time I've ever had issues with accessing the forum have been at my end rather than a problem with the site...

Cheers

Are you with TELSTRA by any chance. Tracert shows a few issues on the network past two weeks on and off. Not sure if related to domestic load and traffic.

It's just this website that I have issues with on and off, so yeah I'd look through your logs and see if there's any clues in there. Anyway, just a suggestion. Sounds like it's not affecting everyone..

Well maybe, but not necessarily. An issue might only be affecting a small proportion of users. Still worth looking into the logs & hardening the security of the website. Anyway, it's just a suggestion, I'll leave it up to the higher powers to decide if they want to look into it to ensure all users can enjoy the website

In my experience when there is something wrong with a website every user is affected. What you are describing are transient connectivity issues. Could be your ISP, DNS, browser or local machine. I have experienced this with IIS on occasions. And other sites recently. Most hosted in the US.

I am having the same crash problem, and I'm not with Telstra.

Only this website too.

The website is often slow to upload, and with more pages, the slower it gets until it crashes altogether. I mentioned this to Carlton a couple of weeks ago, when we thought the problem was with my server. But no, the problem is persistent only with this website.

Only when using the NBN though. I haven't encountered this problem while using my phone's data.

May not be related, but the margins of this dialogue box is now thicker. For all boxes where where I can input dialogue, the margin surrounding the box is thicker. Just a couple of changes that I've encountered.
