M8 Lagoon Reprocessed.

Hi all

With the weather being as it is, I decided to try and do some reprocessing of older data.

Here's the Lagoon, reprocessed using the EZ Suite and a few masks techniques in PI. Also used was StarXTerminator which is really rather fantastic!

2600MC + L-Extreme

It might need a bit more work, but it's late and way past my bedtime (what a rubbish astro-photographer, hey? )

Slightly bigger and less compressed version here

Cheers

Hi Adam

I have also started to use EZ Suite.
Earlier I made a remark 'not sure it is easy', but it does work (mostly).
I think the 'denoise' is very very good (linear images).

Have no idea about StarX so can't comment.

And '...you get to sleep? Save that for the next life

Good effort

That looks pretty good Adam. If you were using Photoshop I would recommend a bit of shadows/highlights tool to further tame the bright central area and bring out more detail.

If you are using PI then I am not sure which process handles that.

Greg.

Thanks Peter

It's a great suite indeed! The noise reduction is phenomenal, as you say. It'd be nice if it worked on non-linear images as well.

Thank you, Greg.
I woke up the next morning looking at this image again, and yes, definitely blown out in the core. I shouldn't edit when tired

Aim was to practise and try and get a less "L-Extreme" colour balance out of L-Extreme data. Not a fan of the colours that filter gives out of the box, so trying to learn how to map things a little better.

Thank you for the comment, I'll take it into Photoshop later and bring back the core.
