http://www.mrpugh55.cba-sierras.com/M16_CDK17-Martin Pugh.zip

The data is comprised of 45 minutes each LRGB and 2 hours of Ha and is pre-calibrated.

Now of course, this is not the BEST data this scope produces from that location, you get that when you subscribe 😉

Post your results in the Deep Sky section, would love to see the results.

cheers and have fun with the data.

Thanks for the data Martin. It was fun playing with. Amazing tiny stars at that FL. Didn't use the Ha channel. I tought the Lum was excellent as is and like it better.

Lovely data set.

Here's my take on it.

Well done Peter. The result has good contrast and it looks as if you used the Ha. I particularly like the graduation of colour in the centre of the image.

Ta. I didn't spend a good deal of time assembling this one, and indeed used the Ha data.

Interestingly the CDK kicks out more noticeable diffraction spikes compared to my RC. While I didn't find the RGB data to be a revelation, the h-alpha set is simply amazing.

A quality 'scope at altitude with clear dark skies is no doubt imaging Nirvana...particularly for urban imagers like myself.

The set was 'limited' and by that I mean more HaLRGB was collected than what was made available.

FWIW - here is how I interpreted the data.

Nice. I suspect I should not have been quite so heavy handed in dialing back
the colour from the h-alpha layer. A little more magenta looks better.

SharpStar 121SDQ Quintuplet Data Subscription

Hi folks

here is a new data subscription offering at a very affordable price.

For a trial period of 3 months from 1 Feb to 30 April, the system below will be offered under data subscription:

Specification:
SharpStar 121SDQ Quintuplet Refractor f5.6
EQ8 Mount
QHY600 One-Shot Colour (OSC) with optional Optolong L-eXtreme filter.
Pixel Scale 1.14 arcsecs per pixel.
FOV 188 x 122 arcmins

With a OSC camera, data accumulation will occur more quickly (weather
permitting of course) and if on the off chance, you are unaccustomed to OSC data processing, it is quite different. So, subscribers will be given access to the 'first light' data set I collected for the attached M42/NGC 1977 image (5 x 5 min subs ONLY) so you can get some practice, like I had to!

Interested? Well you can either sign up here or contact me by PM to arrange EFT in AUD.

cheers
Martin
