Hi folks
I am looking for 2-3 people to make up an 'imaging team' on my 12.5" RCOS.

Full system spec is here:
https://www.martinpughastrophotograp...escope-hosting

The price is very low, so if you are data starved you have an opportunity here to get some nice data. A data sampler is here, taken a couple of nights ago.
http://www.mrpugh55.cba-sierras.com/NGC6559.zip

Contact me by PM if interested. The imaging team will kick off as soon as the numbers are met.

cheers and clear skies

Martin

Astrophotography Image Processing

Hello everyone.
As an extension to my remote imaging, telescope hosting and data subscription business, I have now begun to offer one-on-one tutorials in image processing.
So the question to ask is: How do you rate your image processing skills? Do you have great data but just cannot produce an image that will impress your followers, friends and those at the local Astronomical society?

Well, it is possible that I can help.

The tutorials will be conducted using the awesome collaboration tool called Zoom. I have just completed my first (test) session today with a guy in Arizona, and it went exceedingly well with the customer being able to view in great resolution my screen and was able to follow the session with ease.

I can offer tailored sessions to address your requirements and it doesn't matter whether you are an absolute beginner who perhaps has some data from a subscription service or a friend, or perhaps you are fed up of those magenta halos in your NB images.

For the sessions, I will be using any one or more of the following software programs: Maxim DL, CCDStack, Photoshop CC (with a whole bunch of associated plug-ins) and (limited) PixInsight.

Sessions can cover any of the following, and more:
Basic image calibration, registration, noise reduction, and combining
Detailed start to finish processing of:
Galaxy HaLRGB:
Nebula HaLRGB:
Bi-colour Narrowband:
Tri-colour Narrowband:

If this interests you, please PM me for further details.

cheers and clear skies
Martin

Thank you for the heads up Martin.

Is this the total cost for 3 months or is it $600/month?

The link does not work.

Regards
Suavi

Thank you Martin.

Quite tempting offer, particularly that I will most likely never own a 17".

Best Yet

Happy New Year IIS members.

Well, it goes without saying that your entire imaging platform i.e every hardware and software aspect, has to be perfectly optimized to achieve this kind of result.

This is the best result I have ever achieved and of course is testament to the excellent seeing conditions at Obstech El Sauce. Given that the image scale of this system is 0.63 asp, to achieve a resultant FWHM of 0.881 after 30 minutes of exposure is remarkable at the amateur level.

Spaces are available if you are interested in subscribing

cheers

Hi there.

What can 17” of aperture achieve at f6.8 under pristine dark skies with spectacular seeing?

Check out the attached….this is a single 15 minute sub in each RGB channel. I didn’t even bother to calibrate it. I used hot pixel rejection in CCDStack, registered, and then combined. No other processing whatsoever. FWHM of all 3 frames was 1.1 asp.

Data of this quality is hard to come by - so subscribing to my Chilean based CDK may just interest you

Cheers

Remote Imaging - New Opportunity

Hi folks.

If your imaging campaign is city bound and you are fed up of making the trek to a dark site, well expansion is underway at my rural property here in Yass, NSW.

The new obs is expected to be operational in late Nov and 3 spaces are already taken.

You can check out the skies at the obs here:
https://www.martinpughastrophotograp...escope-hosting

and here is a link to a 20 min Luminance image of NGC 4945 taken a couple of nights ago.

http://mrpugh55.cba-sierras.com/NGC494520minsLum.fit

FWHM 1.3....Obviously I do not get this every night but the seeing is pretty good here.

cheers

CDK17 Data Subscription - From Chile.

Hi folks.
Tomorrow I will announce a very special promotion on data subscription to my CDK17 in Chile.

In particular, signing up for one year will represent a HUGE saving.

On top of that, if you elect to backdate that subscription by 6 months, you will get immediate access to just under 700 hours of data on multiple targets, both broadband and narrowband (or you can backdate by 3 months too).

Check it out tomorrow.

regards
Martin Pugh

Hi again.
further to my post below:

here is a complimentary data set acquired with this telescope. While this data is very good, it gets even better.

Feel free to download and process and if you plan on signing up for 6 months or more, then send me your processed result to enter a competition. The winner will receive an additional 3 complete data sets acquired with this scope when it was operated from Sierra Remote Observatories in California.

2nd Observatory - Update

Hi again.

The foundations were laid today and the observatory is now expected to be ready for occupation by end of Sep....a good few weeks earlier than my first post.

So once again, if your imaging campaign is city bound, have a think on it, partner up, and go remote.

cheers

Complimentary CDK17 data.

Hi folks.
If you are wondering whether you should subscribe to my CDK17 in Chile, then to help you decide here is a (limited) complimentary data set of M16.

http://www.mrpugh55.cba-sierras.com/M16_CDK17-Martin Pugh.zip

The data is comprised of 45 minutes each LRGB and 2 hours of Ha and is pre-calibrated.

Now of course, this is not the BEST data this scope produces from that location, you get that when you subscribe 😉

Post your results in the Deep Sky section, would love to see the results.

cheers and have fun with the data.
