Hey Martin, thanks for the image files etc. Just tried to stack them all up but the image files are 16 bit FITs and the darks etc are 32 bit. Is this intentional because it gives me a not compatible message when I try to stack them.

The straight RGB data is also extremely tight with beautiful colour variations and nuances.

Hi Brent.

just bring the calibration frames into Maxim or PI and save as 16bit, and you are good to go.

cheers

Again Marc, a lovely result with subtle colours. You need to subscribe as there is plenty more where that came from!

I had a play with the data as well. I've done a RGB/Ha combination:

I wasn't as rigorous/careful with the processing as I probably should have been. The data though is very good and easy to work with.

Thanks Martin but I have neither of those. Never mind, the images work quite well without any calibration frames anyway. Here's an RGB Version.

Well done Brent.

Any program that can read 32-bit/IEEE Float FITS can convert it back to 16bit.

Hello everyone.

I was contacted by the ABC last week where I agreed to participate in a telephone interview to help the author write this article on telescope hosting and data subscription here in the SH.

http://mobile.abc.net.au/news/2018-0...44?pfmredir=sm

I will also get interviewed on the radio next week.

cheers
Martin

I was interviewed by the author a few weeks ago and I mentioned your name and iTelescopes as being commercial going concerns. Whilst she did not say my name in her piece, I was the contact she spoke to from the Astronomical Society of South Australia. As I am the current president of the society she rang me and wanted a long chat and clues about whom to contact and how many people were offering these services. So I hope that helped you out a bit Martin.

Hi Paul

thanks for the call today and thanks for pointing her my way. I was wondering how she got hold of me. It would be great if it generates some business, but these things do not make front page headlines and can be hard to find unless you routinely visit certain pages on these news websites.

Things are going very well in general Paul. Considering the obs only became online at the end of January, I only have 2 spaces left to fill.

cheers
Martin

Complete image data sets now available.

Hello everyone.

I am now populating my website with complete image data sets that are available for purchase (via Paypal).

Currently, all of these data sets were taken with the CDK17 when it was parked at Sierra Remote Observatories and the vast majority of them contain between 20-50 hours of exposure, and there are some mosaics in there too.

I have pushed up the data for two objects so far, but have provided a 'slide show' of what is also available so as to give you a heads up as to what is coming. It just takes a very long time to get the data together and build the pages. If you see something on that slide show that interests you just contact me and I can make it available.

I would like to say that the data is all very high quality, some of it was taken with an Apogee U16M and some with the SBIG STXL11002 all AOX guided.

Here is the link:

cheers
Martin
