Asi 183 MC

Asi183mc cool pro has gone a little strange. Imaging fine one night and then, after a doing a little planetary , went back to full res.

Now the stars look very small and the bahtinov will not give a decent diffraction.
Swapped to the 1600 and that is fine. Can the driver fail into default?

Checked the pixel binning? Make sure it's set to 1x1. I've seen similar issues and it was the software switching into 4x4 or something in Live View whilst focusing.

Thanks Craig. I will check that. I was experimenting with a little live stacking at the end of the night.

That does not seem to be the problem. Binning looks like 1. I will have to try some other settings or perhaps another capture programme.

Sounds a lot like your capture software settings or driver settings to me
I’d start from scratch, delete and re install your Ascom and ZWO drivers , check settings and do a imaging run next clear night
Maybe the Laptop too ? Is it autonomous or connected to the internet ?
Mines totally autonomous ( never gets connected to the internet) running on Windows 10 Pro , disabled updates , disabled notifications, no virus protection etc... no issues at all ( in the last few years )
Cheers
Martin

I reinstalled the latest version of Sharpcap and that seemed to work. Back to defaults that worked . I did notice that the camera misbehaved when the 12v was unplugged but whether that was hardware, software or some other result I could not say.

Glad you rectified the issue
Never thought of a main software ( latest version) re install
Under any situation, I always ensure my camera is warmed back to 0 then disconnected via the software ( APT ) before I physically disconnect power and data to the camera itself.
