My then 5yr old grandson learning to surf at the Margaret River river mouth.
Actually two pics, not one; one is first solo, and second one with instructor.
Raymo,
Nice shots
Looks like your grandson is having a ball
It a great healthy fun sport , you just have to cover up when your young ( I didn’t as skin cancer wasn’t even spoken about in the 60’s and 70’s and resulted in a melanoma and a few basil cell carcinoma in my mid 50’s , I’m all clear now but regular skin checks every year)
I do like surf shots whether they be with board riders or not , some water shots my nephew captures from the water are incredible
Check out ( Sam Venn photography)
Thanks again Raymo
Cheers
Martin
Go little Raymo. Margaret River is a great place to be surfer. A life long healthy pursuit and as Tim Winton says, one of the few things we do that is beautiful and that we do for no other reason. Maybe a little like astronomy.
You are more likely to get hit crossing the road I would think or a thousand other more likely accidents including being hit with your surfboard than an attack by a shark.
Sorry Raymo. Should have known. I was , just now , swimming around in the sea and several hardened surfers did mention that after a long swim point to point they do get spooked. Understandable in WA for sure . Seems safer on a board somehow which is not the case. Not good to talk about it in the water though I thought.
