ASI294pro problems

Hi there. I am hoping someone has had similar problems and found the solution.

I am having trouble with processing images I took last night on my ASI294pro. I have successfully processed images in the past with this camera but something is not working.
The problem seems to be with the debayer pattern. The images were recorded in Sharpcap as Raw 8 fits.

I have loaded a single file for testing into PIPP and done tests with the 4 different debayer patterns.
For some reason the RGGB debayer pattern casts the picture in a green tint. GBRG is actually the one that looks the most accurate.
I also tried Autostakkert 3 and had the same result.

I have attached the 4 samples as well as the original fit file and the recording data file as well.

Thank you for your assistance!

Why are you using planetary programmes for deep sky work?
DSS will debayer your images
Then you need to eliminate the green cast using the processing tools of your processing software eg photoshop etc.

Thanks for the suggestions.
I am just using PIPP to debayer the original files from Sharpcap. I also used AS3 to verify I have the right debayer pattern.
When I put the original files straight into DSS they are seen as monochrome files and even though I set the program to process these original files as RGGB the final image is also monochrome.
So after processing them in PIPP I load them into DSS.
I have just processed the debayered files in DSS and came out with the green file attached. I then changed the colour in the second picture to a more realistic tone.
Is that what you mean? Is the pixelation seen expected as well? It is a cropped zoom of the picture.

I am not using DSS any more and have uninstalled it so I can not recall exactly where it is, but you need to go into it's settings and specifically set the debayer pattern. RGGB is correct. They do seem to have a green cast with nothing done colour correction wise.

While DSS is free and Astro Pixel Processor is not, and also has a much greater learning curve (And you have to set the debayer pattern up each time you run it, at least for the ASI294) the stretching and colour management in APP is so far ahead of DSS that I stopped using it as soon as I started on APP.

I reinstalled it to have a look, it is in the RAW/FITS/DDP settings menu but it should be OK, the only thing I can see (Which I did not query before) was using 8 bit FITS files, looks like DSS may not recognise them. I always use 16 bit files.`

I've had a similar issue with 224MC, 8 bit fits files, use 16 bit fits file, works much better. 8 bit files come out monochrome with crosshatch bayer matrix all over them.

Cheers

Awesome, thanks for the input!
I'll be sure to use 16 bit from now on. I HATE that crosshatching!
I might investigate AstroPixel as well!

The learning curve for APP is a lot steeper than DSS but it does provide a better result with a lot less manual tweaking of things like colour balance. About the only thing I do not like about it is that it does not retail settings, so you have to do each of them from scratch each time you start it.

Hmm, yes, I tried the trial of AP a long time ago and I couldn't get into it. I was only starting back then though so I may have a idea now.

Hmm, $90 a year or $205 for lifetime use. Are there other comparable paid software options.

Not so far that I have found that match up to the capabilities and to be honest, the price. I am on the renter license at the moment but I will probably move to the full purchase license when it expires.

I spent more than $200 worth of my time fiddling with stretching and colour in DSS that can be done with a few mouse clicks in APP. The manual stretch in DSS is quite tedious IMO.
