Issues with DEC

First time using the scope in 2 months and of course, issues start to arise!

The guiding looks to be way off, see image attached. Looks to only be in DEC.

There are no cable snags. Unsure what else I can check unless it's an actual issue with the DEC motor. Currently at 1 sec exposures.

Any ideas?

Will continue to try other settings.

I went to 3 seconds and tracking was good for about 10 secs then fell off again.

I also changed back to 1 second and increased Gamma, lasted 20 seconds then DEC goes stupid again!

Thought I would do a re-calibration.

Looks to have improved but guiding is still not the best.

Could be part seeing conditions too.

I had something similar once. Re-ran polar alignment, then like you, did a re-calibration (near zenith). Problem went away.

Strange. I leave the mount outside as well. A friend of mine said to move the DEC and RA around a few times as the grease may have seized the movement a bit.

Had a successful meridian flip but then the guiding lost it's marbles again for a while then settled down. Strange!
