DSLR battery "conversion" ?

Hi.
I have a kodak DSLR camera that runs on 2 rechargeable A size batteries. I have often wondered if it was possible to hook it up to a bigger battery..

My main problem is I have to use the LCD screen on the camera while I do an image run using a telescope @ Afocal. Using the screen chomps up a lot of battery power & only get about 30 mins worth before having to change them out to the 2 spare batteries I have. (which are fully charged ready)

Kodak sell an attachment that you can plug into your cig. lighter in your car to save on battery power while your reviewing your pics if your on holidays for instance.

Is there any reason I could'nt use one of these adapters "full-time" while I'm imaging.....off a 12 V car battery??
