Hi Dave,

nice first image.

I'm sure it has sparked the bug.

Hopefully the weather lifts and you can
continue enjoying your equipment.

My only suggestion at this stage is focus.

When we zoom into your image your stars have
a 'donut' look.

If you can get the 'dounts' to a fine point, you are in focus.

Great image, nicely framed, I'm enjoying it.

Perhaps a little processing to bring out your work ?

Looking forward to more.

Keep well.

Paul.

Paul,

Thank you for the constructive feedback. That night i basically threw the Canon M6 on the back of my LX90 and did a visual focus (not that good as it turns out) but gives me an idea of what a difference the focus really does make.

I am just getting my Astro photography gear together, so I hope to have many more attempts with better results.

I see you are in Ulladulla......I picked up my LX90 from a mate of mine in Ulladulla. I was there 2 weeks ago. My mate has just also bought a 8" LX90. if you would be willing to connect with him I am sure he would appreciate your wisdom, and may be a fellow Astronomer to chat with? He is on the same beginners journey as I am.

If so, let me know and I will PM his details.

Cheers

Dave

Far better that my first effort that's for sure.

I'd suggest investing in a bahtinov mask as it is easily the best way to do these things, and are cheap. You can even make one from cardboard if you're that way inclined.
