Help, Dirty UV Filter

Hi everyone,

Yesterday night i was taking a-focal shots of saturn when i accidently touched the lens eyecup and I noticed toaday that it left a smudged mark like that of a fingerprint, maybe because it had oils from hands or eye regions.

Anyways i tried to take it off with distilled water and microfirbe lens tissue and while it came off, there is still a lot of dust and i think i may have scratched it a little bit .

So I'm am quite annoyed with myself and just want to clean this thing the dust is so stubborn its like its stuck on with super glue.

I Was wondering if I could wash it with detergent and water (rinse) and then wash it off with distilled water.

though the distilled water i used this morning left a residue.

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance
