I need to thin the heard, as such I'm selling my Meade 12" Lightbridge.
These are a wonderful telescope, but I've just got too much equipment and need to make some room .... my loss and your gain as these are hard to get.
This scope is used, so it's not in showroom condition, but IMHO it's very damn good. I made a few upgrades such as the manual AZ setting circle which makes finding targets much easier. You just need to add a Wixey or similar to resolve the Alt.
In full disclosure, part of the Alt braking mechanism broke off, but I didn't use it so never worried about fixing it. Also the finder is non original, is quite faded and the rubber eyepiece is missing, but it still works great.
I've had a number of Dobs including a 10" full tube, this 12" Lightbridge, a 16" Lightbridge and my pride and joy 18" SDM. IMHO these 12" Lightbridges are a perfect compromise between portability and aperture and I'm sure the new owner will get some wonderful viewing pleasure from this scope, and that's better than it sitting unused in the corner of my rumpus room.
Priced at $1,000 picked up from Greenvale, Vic, 3059. I don't have packaging so shipping would be very difficult due to size.
