CaII K3 activity 17Dec2021

Recorded the current activity; flaring in active areas, filaments and a large(ish) prom about 8pm.

The W47 + UV-IR + 1mm exit slit on the MiniSHG seems to be working well for me. I'll keep this configuration for the next few days - iron out the bugs.
Enjoy

Nice images Ken. Been following your solar work for a while. That MiniSHG seems to do ok in the Calcium wavelengths.

Thanks guys, appreciate.
Finding a workable solution for the CaK is a challenge. I think the current setup will be good enough to move forward.
No major issues with H alpha; that just leaves the other interesting wavelengths like Sodium and Helium ….
Looks like I’ll be out of action for a little while - the USB3 cable for the ASI 178 has failed and I can’t find any workable alternatives in the box. Bumma.
