Motorizing a Orion filter wheel

Hi all,

Just been pondering if it would be possible to motorize a manual orion filter wheel? I have one and would like to move to a motorized one for planetary imaging. Not sure if the cost of doing the conversion is justified but would be a good challenge, however I have not found any info on the net to suggest that anyone has given this a go.

Anyone have any ideas or info?

Cheers
Mike

I guess you could mount a small stepper on the side there, how hard are they to turn?
