This image is one of my last from Clayton Bay and was collected over the last couple of months.
Fleming 1 has long been on my imaging list and I am afraid it might still have to stay there. Despite taking 24.5 hours of data, the 8300 sensor and the seeing were not helpful in either instance.
The nebula is a planetary with two symmetrical jets which extend to 2.8pc. According to Wikipedia the jets were most likely ejected around 10,000 to 16,000 years ago.
At the core of the nebula is a shape similar to a butterfly shape. At the core of that shape is a torus of hot expanding gases. Personally I think this all looks a bit like a face looking directly at us, not really a butterfly at all.
