Connecting to PMX+ issue

i am trying to connect to my PMX+ for the first time. i have managed to connect to my camera and guide camera through the USB ports on the versa plate but when i try to actually connect to the mount itself i get

Could not open communications port. the port is either in use by another application or not recognized by the system. Error = 201.

i initially tried connecting to it without connecting up any other gear through the same USB but that didnt work either, anyone else experienced this issue

This happened to me too when I first tried to connect my PMX. I can't remember exactly what I did though! Something in device manager I recall....Did you install the MKS5000 driver?

I remember having to installing the MKS5000 driver first, then in The SkyX, where you configure/choose your mount, there will be a drop down menu, which lists available COM ports. Choose the one which says "MKS5000" Then you should be able to connect.

Mine wouldn't connect, or show up in TSX until I installed the driver. Did "MKS5000" show up in the list of available ports when you tried to configure the mount?

Erik.

Success ! the mount needed to be turned off and on after the driver was installed ... the error messaging is horrible

Great to hear you sorted it out I was a little confused by some of the error messages also. I had them when trying to connect my cameras as well.

Have fun with the new toy
