Sombraro Galaxy M104

Hello everyone,

Just sharing a couple of pics I managed to squeeze out of the C8. Rubbish by comparison to some I seen here but still brings me joy seeing that I'm getting anything, and its recognizable.

Visibility was quite turbulant but my biggest problem was guiding. Even though PHD didn't lose the star, it still drifted across the field of view over time, so trying to take 5 minute subs resulted in streaking... Polar alignment was a bit out I think.

I resorted to capturing M104 Sombraro using a series of 20 x 30 second subs ISO3200 in APT, then stacking them in Nebulosity 3.

Great programs BTW, highly recommended.

Took a few darks, averaged out a master dark file and subtracted the darks from each 30 second sub.

Here are my results...

The moon was a quick capture through the f6.8 focal reducer. All photos taken with Canon 40D.
