The Dragons

Hi all

Decided to try this one the other night. Another new target for me. This takes my imaging tally up to 5 images now, woohoo

Camera:ASI2600MC
Scope: SkyWatcher EvoStar 80ED + Orion FF
Filters: L-Extreme
Mount:EQ6-R Pro
Guiding camera: ASI290MM
Guiding scope: SkyWatcher EvoGuide 50ED
Subs: 16 x 480 and 9 x 500 (my fault... bad maths)
Total Integration: 3hrs 23mins (I want more time)
Gain: 100
Offset: 50
Lights: 25
Darks: 0 (I will reprocess with Darks later)
Flats: 18 (had a problem with NINA and Flats, I aimed for 40, 22 were rubbish)
Dark Flats: 40
Bortle Class: 6
Moon: 89%
Software: NINA, PHD2, Stellarium, PoleMaster, StarTools 1.7, Photoshop CC

thanks for looking

You've got to be happy with that Adam. Great depth and texture in your dragons. Well processed too. Nice work.

Some very respectable dragons you’ve captured there Adam. There colour and detail has come through very well.

Very nice!! How did you process it? As it came out of the camera or did you create a palette (Hubble etc)

Hi Rene, thanks!

It’s not much of a change in terms of colour. I just did a hue change in PS but only slightly to remove some of the reds and bring in a bit of yellow. Not much

The rest was edited in Startools. One day I’ll learn how to split the channels and process them separately

PS: have you tried the Startools presets in the colour module

Thanks Martin. Yes I had a LOT of trouble with Startools on a previous image and almost gave up with the software, but the folks on the forum there really helped me and I was able to use that knowledge to edit this one.
I'm finding the Film Dev module really powerful. Love it!

Excellent image Adam,

Film dev was my GOTO instead of autodev as I had more control over the stretch.

Lovely image Adam. Your touches in the red/yellow area are great and really help the dragons stand out against the gold background.

Best

Cheers Karl. Agree. Autodev is nice for that inital stretch to see any issues, but Film Dev is much more powerful after that.

Thanks, JA. This is the second process actually, and it was to do just that... bring the dragons out a little more.
